CHALLENGE
When I joined in 2021, RTI Merge was a machine learning platform in concept—there was no interface yet, only technical concepts and ideas. As an integration platform, it needed to bring six open-source tools, multiple workflows, and complex data processes into one cohesive experience.
APPROACH
Through interviews, requirements gathering, and a shared glossary, I mapped and sketched key workflows from installation through data manipulation and results. Because the product is proprietary, some experiences cannot be shown publicly.
RESULT
I led discovery and systems-thinking sessions that translated a complex technical vision into a cohesive product experience, from core workflows and information architecture to interface patterns and AI terminology. The work led to multiple follow-on collaborations. Because the product is proprietary, I’ve included prototypes and supporting materials rather than final screenshots.
Systems architecture and alignment
I began by creating a bird’s-eye view of the integrated experience to align workflows, interfaces, user assistance, and AI terminology across the product.
Web Application
I designed this pilot application using RTI Merge tools and its design system, organizing the experience around four key questions for exploring complex data.
Marketing materials
I extended the product into marketing materials for the sales team, translating the complex platform into clear, approachable materials for prospective customers.
